Thanks to the FNMT Digital Private Individual Certificate, you can say goodbye to trips to government offices and long queues.
A simple procedure that saves management time.
The digital certificate from abroad must be made at a Notary’s Office as a preliminary step to verify the identity of the foreign person with their NIE.
The document has three pages, all three must bear the stamp of the Hague Apostille.
The applicant must carry their passport and NIE with them
For the document to be valid before the Tax Agency, the applicant must:
- Sign on the three pages on the line where it says SIGNATURE.
- The date of the document must be the signature date.
In addition to the Hague Apostille, on the third page of the document the notary must insert a text in Spanish and his signature and stamp must appear just below this text, just below the line that says “Space reserved for signature legitimation in notarial presence ”(third page of the document).
The text that the notary must add is the following:
I, name of the notary, notary of the place of residence of the notary, Country of the notary, I consider the preceding signature of xxxxx (the applicant) legitimate because said signature was made before me, after having been duly identified with your NIE of Spain. And for the record, I sign and stamp this in the place of residence of the notary, Country of the notary, the date of the signature.
Once done, it will only be enough to appear with the document in the offices authorized to verify and obtain the keys so that, once the software is downloaded, enable and install the digital certificate.
